This 5 Day Workshop is open to everyone who wants to rediscover the joy of moving and feel fully alive. We move to a wide variety of good music.

We will learn:
~a warm up to lubricate all the joints in all directions

~time on the floor to expand and integrate

Assistant Adrienne Stone, PT, Rosen Method Movement Teacher and Bodywork Practitioner. She brings her physical therapy background, personal yoga practice, Trager(R) influence, knowledge  of safe movement for fragile bones, and her joy for Rosen Movement.

Falling at Wasaga Beach

As many of you know Helene and I recently moved to Toronto. I am setting up my Rosen practice and Helene is going to school at York.

We want to let you know about “Impact Afghanistan War” a performance art project Helene started on July 1, 2010(Canada Day). “Impact” is a one-year project where she falls 100 times every day in a public space. Each fall represents a death in Afghanistan.

“Impact” is her attempt to reach beyond the numbness produced by abstract numbers, political debates and media spectacularization. It is her attempt to register, through her body the impact of our (Canada/US and other NATO allies) engagement in Afghanistan. In a larger sense, it is an inquiry into empathy.”Impact” is an investigation of the space between “us” and “other,” between individual and social grief, between personal ritual and public protest and between art and politics.

The first phase of the project was launched in February of 2010 with a month long campaign to offer low fee sessions to new clients. Practitioners from all over North America were invited to participate by donating sessions and contributing the fees to a grant fund. They received promotional materials, and a boost from a beautiful article about Marion, published in the San Francisco Chronicle on March 8, 2010.

When the numbers were in this new initiative was proving to be quite a success…60 Practitioners, 251 sessions to new clients, 75 ongoing clients generated, and $4,000 raised for the grant fund.

The second phase of the MWH Project happened over the summer. The entire Rosen community was invited to dream up inspiring projects of their own. Funding could be requested in amounts of either $500 or $3000. Grant recipients were determined by a vote of the 60 contributing practitioners. There were 16 very creative, diverse and inspiring proposals. To see all the proposals visit:

*”Hands on Vets,” a project by Linda Frisone of Massachusetts to bring touch and Rosen-style listening to millitary veterans.
*”Marion Rosen Film project,” in support of the Rosen Institute project to create a documentary film about Marion Rosen.
*”Let’s Talk about Talking about Rosen,” a project by Patricia Angelina of California to create a download/DVD to support practitioners in sharing Rosen Method through Lecture/ Demonstrations and verbal introductions

In October the fort Global conference is cming up in thew UK.
We as the North American RMPA want to present ourselves as a strong and action-organized Association. We want to present our new marketing plan with all its different modules. However there are several Board members who have financial issues, which might prevent them from going and representing you. I want to get some fund raising ideas to help them cover their traveling and conference coasts. Please, let everybody know!
